2003 Marguerite Spring Tulip Cruise -- Holland Seven days/six nights 20 PASSENGER
For years The Marguerite operated as A&K's Rembrandt. Continental Waterways acquired it last year and refurbished it. It was renamed the Marguerite. This year it will do two separate itineraries, the Holland Tulip Cruise and the Champagne Cruise. You will enjoy this beautiful barge.

Saturday ~ Meeting point: 2pm at: HOTEL DE L’EUROPE***** AMSTERDAM This is the most luxurious hotel in Amsterdam. It has 5 stars and is located in the heart of the city. Built in 1896, it offers 2 gourmet restaurants and 100 rooms and suites. It is located at Nieuwe Doelenstraat 2-8,--1012 CP AMSTERDAM - HOLLAND. Sunday ~ Visit of Zaanse Schaans with its extraordinary collection of 16C and 17C buildings and windmills. Cruise along the Zaan to the Alkmarder Meer, a vast lake, and then along the Noord Hollands Canal to Alkmaar. Guided tour of this fascinating town: cheese market, weighing house, and many splendid 15C and 16C houses. |

Monday ~ Cruise south, crossing the Alkmaarder Meer and along the busy Nordsee Canal to moor in Haarlem, center of the Dutch bulb trade. Visit the city center and the Frans Hals Museum. Cruise south through tulip fields to Lisse in the heart of the tulip-growing area. |

Tuesday ~ Excursion to visit the world-famous Keukenhof gardens, an 80-acre park with a colorful display of some six million tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths. Cruise to the famous cheese-making town of Gouda and visit St. John’s Church with its renowned stained glass windows. |

Wednesday ~ Morning cruise along the Hollandse Ijssel to Utrecht, where we moor for lunch. A guided walking tour of the remarkable city center: two level canal quays, 12C fish market and 14C bell tower; time to visit shops and boutiques, or one of the city’s excellent museums Evening cruise on the modern Amsterdam-Rhine Canal to the town of Breukelen. |

Thursday ~ We enter the beautiful, meandering river Vecht and cruise through a picturesque landscape of windmills, trim villages and lift bridges to the town of Weesp. Here we rejoin the Rhine Canal and cruise into Amsterdam; mooring close to the city center. Guided walking tour of this bustling city. Farewell gala dinner on board. |

Friday ~ Coach transfer to the Hôtel de l’Europe in Amsterdam arriving about 1 pm. |
The route is run in reverse on alternate weeks. Excursions/mooring places and the route may be modified without prior notification due to unforeseen circumstances.
