Terms and Conditions for Canal
and Company French Barge Cruise Vacations.
Canal
&
Co. cruises include:
A. Three
Gourmet French Meals each day beginning with a breakfast buffet
B. Quality
French wines served with lunch and dinner
C. Daily
guided shore excursions in air conditioned comfort
D. Transportation from the
"meeting point" to the boat and back to the departure point at the end
of the cruise is included for all persons. Anacoluthe and Esprit
d'Europe meeting point is in Paris. Other cruises have a meeting
point easily accessed from Paris by train. Canal and Co will
pre-arrange an option Paris Transfer for clients of the Litote,
Lorraine, and Libellule. This transportation is from Hotel Regina
in central Paris. It includes baggage handling from the hotel,
private bus bus transfer to the train, first class train tickets to the
meeting place and baggage handling to their room on board the boat.
The client does not handle his or her bags again from the central Paris
Hotel until they get into their cabin on the boat.
Our prices do
not include:-
a)
Gratuities for crew (we suggest 100 euros per passenger must be
given in cash).
b)
Travel Insurance. We strongly recommend trip cancellation
Insurance as we strictly apply our terms & conditions. It can be
purchased directly from this site.
c)
Bar drinks, wine is included with lunch and dinner, separate bar
drinks, after dinner drinks etc. are extra
d)
Transfers from Paris except for Anacoluthe and Esprit de Europe.
The client may arrange their own Paris transfers or take ours at an
extra cost.
TERMS &
CONDITIONS
We accept
reservations under the following conditions
A)
INDIVIDUALS
To reserve and
confirm space, the following payments are required.
-
50% of the
cruise price to confirm the booking is due within one week of
confirmation.
-
50% of the
cruise price is due at 2 months prior to departure.
In case of
cancellations, the following fees will be retained by Canal and Company.
-
$500 euros
per person for cancellations received up to 3 months prior to
departure
-
35% of the
cruise price for cancellations received between 3 and 2 month prior
to departure.
-
Entire
cruise price for cancellations received less than 2 months prior to
departure
-
All
cancellations must be in writing to Canal and Company.
B)
CHARTERS FOR LIBELLULE, LITOTE & LORRAINE
. To
confirm the charter, a non-refundable deposit of $3,000/3000 euros
. 2nd
non-refundable deposit of $8000/8000 euros at 6 months prior
. Balance
is due at 3 months prior to departure
. In case
of cancellation up to 6 months prior to departure, deposits may be
applied
to individual bookings on the same barge, same date.

Cancellations between 6 and 3 months are subject to forfeiture of
deposits received.

Cancellations received within 3 months of departure are subject to the
forfeiture
of the
entire charter cost.
C)
CHARTERS/GROUPS ANACOLUTHE & ESPRIT DE EUROPE
. 10%
non-refundable deposit to confirm the charter
. 25%
non-refundable deposit at 8 months prior to departure
. 25%
non-refundable deposit at 4 months prior to departure
. 40%
final payment due at 2 months prior to departure
. The
charter can be converted into a group or individual bookings
on the
same vessel and same date up to 6 months prior to anyway.
but not
thereafter.
. At 6
months prior to departure, if you decide to keep the charter, are
liable for the whole charter cost. The charter terms & conditions
will
apply if you convert to group, otherwise those for individuals will be
used.
Groups
. A group
is defined as 20 or more full paying passengers
. A free
space for the group leader will be granted for each group
.
Payments an d cancellations are the same as for the above charters
. The
number of passengers must be defined at 6 months prior to
departure and cannot be reduced
Small Groups are between 10 and
18 full fare clients. Groups of this size will be offered a small
discount in lieu of a free cabin.
WATERWAY ROUTES
All routes are
subject to change without notice. Although we will endeavor to advise
you as far in advance as possible, some waterways may be subject to
occasional closures due to draught, storms, floods, canal and lock
repairs, or other circumstances beyond our control. In the event of any
such occurrences, the following conditions will apply:
1)
If navigation has to be suspended, passengers will continue to be
housed on board and regular excursions will be made, with cruising to be
continued as soon as possible.
2)
We reserve the right to reverse the cruise route, cruise along
other waterways or transfer passengers to another vessel of similar
standards should the need arise. The decision on action to be taken, of
the on board Manager is final.
3)
CANAL&COMPANY reserves the right, at all times and without
recourse or liability to amend itineraries, substitute vessels , change
region of cruising and cancel a cruise or part thereof. Should no
alternative be available, CANAL&COMPANY’s sole responsibility is to
refund all monies paid by their client who will not have any further
claim s on Canal&Company or its agents.
Though rare,
in addition to waterway considerations there could be other reasons for
a change in a boat or itinerary. Canal & Company reserves the right to
make such changes as it deems necessary in light of the conditions
present at the time sailing.
CRUISE
ITINERARIES AND MOORINGS
Navigation
conditions, on rare occasions, may require the use of alternate
overnight moorings. Excursions are subject to availability and they
could be done in a different order than mentioned in the itinerary.
Cruises operate in reverse order on alternate weeks. WE SUGGEST THAT

PHOTGRAPHY &
FILMING ON TOUR
CANAL&CO.
reserves the right to take photographs and videos during our cruises and
to use these for promotional purposes.
By booking a
CANAL&CO.
cruise, tour members agree to allow their image to appear in such
materials. Tour members who prefer that their image not be used are
asked to advise the Manager at the beginning of the cruise.
SMOKING POLICY
For security
reasons and for the comfort of everyone, smoking is not allowed on the
interior part of any of our vessels. There will be a designated smoking
area on the exterior deck.
CHILDREN ON
BOARD
Children under
the age of 12 are welcome on charters only.
FURTHER
CONDITIONS
CANAL&CO.
reserves the right to adjust prices without notice should fluctuations
in the foreign exchange markets deem this necessary. We reserve the
right to refuse to accept or retain as a member of a cruise, any person
at any time.
We reserve the
right to pass on to tour members any expenditures or losses caused by
delays or events beyond our control.
