Sunday ~ Cruise to Oude Wetering, a peaceful village in the heart of this flower growing region. Excursion to nearby Leiden, Holland's oldest university town and birthplace of Rembrandt. Visit the Lakenhal museum, exhibits include: two of Rembrandt's earliest works, a number of canvasses by other 17C Dutch masters, a pictoral history of the city, machines used in the cloth industry, collection of decorative tiles. Time free in town before returning to the vessel. |

Monday ~ Cruise to Kinderdijk where we visit the 19 windmills (part of UNESCO World Heritage) built in 1740 to drain the polders. Interesting cruising through the Delta to Willemstad. Time off to stroll through this charming town with its old ramparts. |

Tuesday ~ Cruise through the Rhine Link Canal to the vast international seaport of Antwerp. Guided walking tour of the fascinating city. To see: the magnificent Gothic Cathedral Notre Dame (14C), the largest chruch in Belgium surmounted by a spire 400 ft high. The cathedral's treasures include Ruben's "The Resurrection of the Christ". Free time to visit the shopping center, or one of the excellent museums before returning to the boat. |

Wednesday ~ Cruise the western arm of the Schelde, linking Antwerp to the sea, and cross the border into Belgium before arriving in glorious Ghent. Visit the city of 200 bridges: medieval church of St Nicholas, Cathedral of St Bavon (housing 12 panels of the Van Eyck brothers’ Adoration of the Lamb), spectacular City Hall. |

Thursday ~ Cruise to Bruges through a typical Flanders landscape. Walking tour of Bruges, famous for its fine lace. Its many attractions include over 50 bridges, a 13C belfry (350 ft high) housing Europe’s most famous carillon, and Belgium’s oldest City Hall (begun in the 14C). Farewell gala dinner. |

Friday ~ Coach transfer to Brussels, Hotel Conrad, (alternate weeks: Hôtel de l’Europe in Amsterdam), arriving at about 11.30am. |
The route is run in reverse on alternate weeks. Excursions/mooring places and the route may be modified without prior notification due to unforeseen circumstances.
